Interested in posting a job or internship with ACC?
Austin Community College uses Handshake, our official early talent recruiting platform, to connect employers with ACC students and alumni seeking jobs and internship opportunities
Handshake allows employers to:
- Share opportunities directly with ACC talent
- Manage postings and applicants in one platform
- Access additional recruiting opportunities through Career Life Design
Employers are encouraged to review ACC’s recruiting guidelines here prior to posting jobs and/or participating in recruiting events.

- Get started registering for Handshake here!
- Complete the Handshake Registration form and select “Sign Up.”
- You will be asked to enter your recruiting interests, your alma mater, agree to the Employer Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.
- Handshake will then send a verification email to the address you provided. Select “Confirm Email” to verify your account.
- After confirming your email, connect with your organization by searching for your company or selecting “Create New Company.”
- If your company is already represented on Handshake, you should be prompted to connect with your organization.
- Use the search bar to find “Austin Community College” and select the “+” to connect with us!
- Your connection request will be reviewed. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email.
- Now that you are connected with ACC, you can post your job in Handshake!
- When logging in, do not select the blue “Austin Community College Sign-On” option, as this is for students. Instead, select the link to “Sign in with your email address.”
- From your dashboard, select “Post a Job.” You will be prompted to enter job basics, details, and preferences.
- On the left side of the screen, add ACC by selecting the “+” next to Austin Community College.
- Select “Create” to review and submit your posting.
Job postings are reviewed by Handshake. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email and the position will be visible to ACC students and alumni.

Employers can connect with students through a variety of engagement opportunities designed to support recruiting and relationship-building. Participation allows employers to share industry insight, promote opportunities, and build early connections with ACC students.
Engagement opportunities currently include:
- Job Fairs: Information about upcoming job fairs is available in Handshake. Employers must have an active Handshake account to register.
- Please note there is a $50 registration fee to participate.
- Host an Event: Do you have an engaging information session, panel, or dynamic presentation you’d like to host? Email us at employers-group@austincc.edu to explore options.
- Host/Post a Virtual Event: Organize a virtual event and post the registration link through Handshake so ACC students can sign up to attend. Virtual events may include company information sessions, internship spotlights, or industry overviews.
In addition to recruiting-focused engagement, employers may also participate in opportunities designed to increase brand visibility and build awareness with ACC students.
Branding and visibility opportunities may include:
- Flyers & Job Promotion: After posting positions in Handshake, employers may submit flyers or job descriptions (PDF format) to employers-group@austincc.edu for sharing with students.
- Practice Interviews (Big Interview): Support student career readiness by contributing sample interview questions through Big Interview, ACC’s virtual interview practice platform. Participation helps students prepare while increasing employer visibility.
